They are absolutely delicious despite the lookCame 2 weeks sooner than estimated. The price was a bargain and they are delicious despite the look. First impression they kind of look like Turkish delight but they taste like delicious softer gummies. They are flavorful and they have a soft texture.5The taste exceeded expectations!I bought these for a friend who is a long-time Dr. Who fan and he served these when a group of us would gather to watch the new Jodie Whittaker episodes. I expected a gummi bear knock-off but these were much better. The texture is different from a gummi, it's soft inside with a slight crust on the outside which makes it more pleasurable to eat. It didn't stick to my teeth or gums, and the taste was really, really good. The flavors are strong and satisfying and not too sweet.Unfortunately these were shipped from overseas so their price is too high to make them an everyday item, so for now they will remain a very fun and tasty special treat for those all-too-rare times when a new Dr. Who episode airs and our host can offer us a Jelly Baby.5thinking that I might have gotten a bad batch or somethingI erred by ordering these in the heat of the summer, so by the time I received them through the mail, rather than having a bag of jelly babies, I had one big jelly blob. OOPS! However, that is not why I give this only two stars. I give myself minus 5 stars for my lack of forethought! :-) The reason for the 2 stars is that I had a memory from about 30 years ago that I bought some Jelly Babies through a local candy store who ordered them in specially for me and, upon trying them, I found the taste to be horrid. After seeing these available through Amazon and having just watched six weeks of real Doctor Who (the first seven Doctors) through Twitch Live, I wanted to try them again, thinking that I might have gotten a bad batch or something. Nope, not at all! The taste was just as bad as I remembered. And, no, it was not because it was a big blob. There were parts of the blob that were still separate from the others, so I was able to sample the individual flavors. They were all just as awful. Maybe the Brits have different taste preferences than I do. If so, they can continue to enjoy those awful things. I will stick to Licorice All-Sorts or something more pleasant to my palate.2Really tasty!!!I ordered these on a whim after watching an episode of Tom Baker's version of Dr. Who with his regular stash of jelly babies. Well, now I know why he liked them. They're really good! The seller provided prompt service, shipping them to me direct from the UK, and I thoroughly enjoyed my purchase. Totally worth it.5Just as nasty as they used to be.I'm a 'murican, and I want my jelly babies to be sour patch kids, or taste like giant jelly beans, or something other than really desiccated off-brand jello dusted in flour.These are perfectly authentic, high quality things that Tom Baker was passing out. But you remember how many people actually turned him down? Now you know why!3Good to try, but don't set your expectation too high.I mainly bought these due to watching classic Dr. Who. As some of you may be aware, the 4th Dr. (portrayed by Tom Baker) seemed to always have some of these on him. I figured, "why not?" and decided to give these classic treats a try simply out of curiosity. The texture takes a bit of getting used to as they have a bit of a thin, hardened, exterior that quickly gives way to a very chewy gummy interior. The flavor is good and they are made with more natural ingredients than what is used in majority of U.S. based candies. Overall, unless they are readily available in your area... these are a novelty item. Good for a once in a while purchase, but not something to go out of your way for.3Ignore the negative reviews.Jelly babies are some of the best sweets on the planet. They were named "peace babies" originally to celebrate the end of the first World War. They're made with actual fruit juice, (unlike most crap candy I've eaten as an American.) they don't stick to your teeth like gummy bears would and are easy to chew. Top of all, they taste great and if you're a Doctor Who fan dying to try them, don't hesitate. They come in flavors of orange, black currant, strawberry, raspberry, lemon, and lime.5Melted into sludgeI've had these Jelly Babies before and they are tender and delicious. However, this order was shipped from the UK and melted into purple sludge along the way. So the low star rating reflects the shipping conditions rather than the product itself. Only buy these in the dead of winter.2Like the 4th Doctor, I LOVE Jelly Babies!I LOVE Jelly Babies! They are delicious and not overly sweet. My personal favourites are the Lime flavour and the Blackcurrant flavour, but all of the flavours are good! The flavours are much closer to real fruit flavour than some other fruit flavoured candies. I also like the texture, unlike gummi bears, which I find too chewy, Jelly Babies are nice and soft and have a unique texture. Even though I realise that these have to be imported from the UK, I still feel that they are a bit overpriced, but not to a level I am unwilling to spend from time to time. I would order these MUCH more frequently if they cost less. I highly recommend Jelly Babies!5Good, not greatI was drunk and watching Doctor Who when I bought these. I totally forgot about it until they showed up. I actually got 3 bags instead of just two. I knew they were different than gummy bears but I had no idea how different. Good, not great, but hey, I got an extra bag for free.5
