lightweight, great fitThese are great if you are tired of taking your readers on and off all the time. They are super-lightweight and flexible. They seem like they will withstand a lot of flexing too. I often break reading glasses by having to straighten them out all the time from getting bent in my pocket. As for the bi-focal part, for me they work great, almost seamless. I just started wearing bi-focals in the last few months, and don't wear them all the time, but when I do, I hardly notice they are on. I haven't had these very long, but really like them. We'll see how they hold up to my abuse. 4Reading portion too smallAbsolutely love the frames....Absolutely HATE the magnified portion.The magnified portion is only 10mm, way too small. I cannot even see all of my computer screen without moving my head.For comparison, my other readers have a magnified area that is 18mm, almost twice the size of these.PLEASE, increase the magnified part!!! I really want these glasses to work, the frame is wonderful. I just cannot make them useful as they are. 1Comfortable fit but short lens means small magnified areaThese are the most comfortable glasses I have ever worn including Maui Jim sunglasses, cheap readers or prescription bifocals. I also like how they look on me but that is just a personal preference. The size of the lens is holding me back from giving it 5 stars. It is a short lens to begin with and the magnified part seems smaller/shorter than other bifocals I have tried. Consequently, I feel like I am looking directly through the top line of the bifocal and have to continually adjust my head angle to keep the desired subject down in the magnified area. They work really well when I am sitting with something on my lap. It is more of a chore when I am standing and holding something in front of me. I will keep these at work where their strength will be most utilized as my job requires I sit in a chair and read things that are on my desk or in my lap. I have a different pair for the kitchen where I stand and read recipes or nutrition labels. Overall I like these glasses and recommend them for the situational uses mentioned above 4Small bifocal areaSome complained that the reading bifocal area is very small, which is exactly why I got it. I wanted a bifocal area that was completely out of the way 90% of the time and was only there when I wanted it, and for that purpose these are (almost) perfect. The frame is very light and you have to look down your nose to get the bifocal area. I would not recommend these for sitting down and reading. However, if you need readers for a task that is mostly far vision with occasional near vision, then these are what you want. 4ReturnedNice, lightweight, stylish glasses; a bit fragile to the feel, but I had to return them. The magnifying portion as half the size of the sunglasses; so thin as to be unusable as reading glasses without tilting the head into an awkward position. Also, the magnifying section is just a stick-on. The lens is not ground to be a reader. 1Love these!Purchased these after cataract surgery and they are great. I was so use to always wearing glasses and could not adjust to having to put readers on and off when needed. 5nice glasses, good qualityI ve had 2 of these, nice glasses, good quality. Under normal circumstances they hold up well. The only critique is that it does not take much to break the arms if they are put in a situation where you accidentally bend the arms. 4Large frame for womenI like them. Light weight and the frame is thin. However, it they are quite large for my face. I will wear them anyway since my optometrist said it would cost $140 + to have them made from regular frames. 4... sets of the non-bi-focal Calabria reading glasses which I like a lotI have a couple of sets of the non-bi-focal Calabria reading glasses which I like a lot, so I thought I'd try these bifocals instead of taking them on and off all day. They look exactly like the non-bifocals and are nice and light, but the magnification part of the lens is very low and which makes it a bit uncomfortable adjust to and move your eyes past the transition. They're not horrible, but given the choice I reach for my regular readers. Oddly, I also purchased the bifocal sunglasses and they're great in the car. I can read the gauges and radio easily, they look up and see clearly without the same eyestrain of a low lens. They're not exactly the same frame, so perhaps that lens is slightly different. 3Love the look, but too small reading areaAt first when I put them on, I loved the way they looked and the thin, lightweight frames. But then quickly agreed with others, that the magnified part of the lens is soooo small, I have to basically lift my head toward the ceiling to see out of the bottom. So I likely cannot wear them at my computer. Maybe they will be ok in my purse for when I'm in a pinch. Not sure why they dedicated such a small area for the magnified area. Probably wouldn't get these again. Bummer because I like the look alot! 3
