It doesn't work as it shouldIt is a very good product with a good idea. WHile it works it does the job supporting the knee cap plus it's not bulky. However the side straps where the velcro attaches is too short , they get worn out sooner than expected and would get detached often becoming anoying. I would love this product if they fix this. 3Snapped on first useThis seemed like a good knee strap for basketball but it snapped when diving on the court for a loose ball the first time wearing it. The joint where the rubber band connects to the strap is suspect. 1Great product, but select your size carefully ...There are two size options described: S/M and L/XL. If your knee is like my own and at the 15" upper limit for the M band, do not order S/M; I received a "S," as it was so labeled, but I was able to return it and get the larger size. The L/XL, labeled as "L," is larger but fits well enough to work. Go larger when ordering.The properly fitting strap, albeit slightly large, has the silicone pad that evenly disperses pressure and does very well to alleviate pain and allow for rehabilitation/PT efforts ... much better than many competitors. It is a good product and they have responsive customer service. 5Poor Construction/Stitching QualityCouldn't wear this thing long enough to determine whether it provided sufficient support as the stitching on the insides of the strap cut into the skin. Running a few steps wearing this strap caused a burning pain from the threads, chafing and scratching the inside of my leg that I had to take it off. I suppose I could sew a cloth liner to prevent the threads from being so abrasive but then that would require some sewing skills. Besides for the cost of this item, one would think they would use either better materials or better seamster/seamstress. 1Good support; bad velcro.I like the support and low-profile of these knee bands. However, the hook-and-loop fastening is so weak that it comes undone every time I bend my knees to jump. They work fine for walking or running, but not for anything explosive. Which is a shame since I got them for skateboarding. 2It actually works!I tore my meniscus and ACL last year. I had surgery at the end of March. I recovered well/fast, and June I had the OK to ease back into things. But still, a year later, it hurts to jog/run, hike long distances (esp going down hill), or the first few steps after sitting at the computer for a while are a bit wobbly. My other knee is just fine, but the knee I had surgery on just isn't 100%. So I got this before a trip where I knew I'd be hiking loads. I didn't get how a tiny strap would help. But it does. I wasn't sore at all. I don't really like the feel (I get sweaty behind the knee, and you have to keep it tight), but it does help me not get sore. So it's worth it! I bought another brand at the same time, just to be sure (I couldn't decide based on reviews), but I like this DonJoy much better. This will be my strap of choice. 5Saved my half marathonTwo weeks prior to a half marathon I was unable to run more than 50 yards due to pain from patellar tendinitis. Using this strap I was able to complete the race with minimal pain. It is far superior to the fabric straps (of which I've tried multiple types). This is absolutely worth the added cost, as I find the lesser-engineered products comparatively ineffective.For sizing note, the circumference of my leg just below the kneecap, where this rides, is 13.25" and I'm close to the upper limit of size on the small/medium. I'd say if you are above 14" circumference there, go with the large/x-large. 5and this is my favorite. It provides pressure where neededI have now tried 4 different patellar straps, and this is my favorite. It provides pressure where needed, stays in place, and is comfortable. I am very satisfied. 5Really WorksI ve tried all types of braces, straps and sleeves as well as months of physical therapy without much success. I have drawers full of that stuff. For some reason this one nailed it for me. Totally pain free when I wear it and my knee stays pain free for quite a while after I take it off. Pretty amazing. Maybe it just suits my particular problem but it really works for me. I like it so much I bought 3 extra ones in case I ever have a hard time finding it again. They re pretty inexpensive.... 5It's okay if you don't have major knee issuesI have worn knee braces and straps for the better part of the last 32 years. This was okay. I have ordered knee straps (2 for 9.99) in the past, and they are still my go to. This one is okay on the knee with no problems, just for some extra support during workouts, but I found it utterly useless on my OA knee. I loved the fact that it was designed to be thin, but in the end...that's not what my knee needed. 3
