Douse Egbert s CoffeeI have ordered this coffee many times. This coffee is the best. It may be a little pricey but the product is well worth it. This is the only coffee I drink. I absolutely encourage anyone who has not tried this coffee should most definitely try it at least once. I was hooked the first bag of coffee I bought. I will continue to purchase the coffee beans and recommend it to everyone. 5I have been ordering Douwe Egbert coffee for years. ...I have been ordering Douwe Egbert coffee for years. It is a water processed coffee and you will taste the difference. I drink no other brand. The company is in Denmark but dont let that put you off. After you have had this coffee, you wont go back to any other. 5Great tasteHad this coffee for the first time in a little "ma and pa" restaurant. Loved it so much had to ask for the brand name. Have been ordering off Amazon ever since. Now, if we run out of it ... panic in the house ensues! Not acidic at all. Very consistent flavor. 5Taste is very subjective - so if you like Dark Roast Coffee - do not buy thisIf you are a fan of the smoky, nutty, deep & complex flavors of dark roast coffees then this is absolutely not the coffee for you. I was fooled by many of the reviews into thinking that this was very similar to a dark roast, but it couldn't be further from the truth. In general, medium roasts have a more sour and stale taste to them and this particular coffee maintains that same flavor profile. I really wanted to experience the excitement that most people were talking about in the reviews but sadly, no dice. FWIW, my coffee arrived with an expiry date 4 months into the future, so that wasn't a concern.Many people say that this coffee needs a very special brewing technique, so I tried brewing using a french press (2 tablespoons of medium to finely ground beans to 3oz of distilled water) and then tried brewing using a Jura X6 in espresso and coffee modes the same stale-like flavor soured my mouth. :(Bottom line, this is a medium roast coffee that doesn't come close to the superior flavor of a dark roast coffee. 2TRY IT YOU'LL LIKE IT!!!GOOD GOD THAT'S A GREAT CUP OF COFFEE!!!! I'm no coffee snob. I just like a good cup of black coffee. No cream, sugar, milk or anything else people garbage up their coffee with. Just plain black coffee, This coffee is smooth, not too strong, and no bitter after taste. The Europeans sure know how to make a good coffee bean. 5My go to coffee for yearsI am originally from the Netherlands and since this coffee is from a Dutch manufacturer I am more than familiar with it.I have tried almost every brand of coffee available, both whole bean and ground, but I always go back to Douwe Egberts, either roodmerk or Excellent aroma.You cannot imagine how excited I was to find this coffee (after moving to the states) on Amazon.I'll never settle for anything less. 5Once you go black, you'll never go back!!Fantastic coffee. I'm a coffe brat and will only buy the best. If you love coffee, you'll love this. Try it without the additives. It has such a smooth rich taste, you will no longer want to add the cream and sugar. I'm a huge fan of Jamaican Blue Mountain. This has become its rival. 5Not worth it.I do not like this coffee at all. The flavor is weak and very disappointing. I had first tasted this brand at a Las Vegas casino, and loved it. I don t think this coffee is the same as what the casino offered.I do know how to make a good cup of coffee and I know how to brew it correctly, in a good coffee maker that heats the water to the proper temperature.Very disappointed by this coffee. 2but rarely at a restaurant or hotel because the quality is generically boring. This was an exception. 5Best Coffee Anywhere!We first were introduced to this coffee on the island of Curacao...our family is in agreement that it is the best coffee any of us have ever had. Until we found this, we frequently purchased Starbucks Blonde beans but this is much better. It is full bodied yet smooth with no bitterness. I don't see us purchasing any other type of coffee bean now that we know we can get these delivered to our door in the US! 5
