The lid on the jar of instant coffee was not sealedThe lid on the jar of instant coffee was not security sealed and when I pulled it out of the bubble wrap the top came off showering coffee all over my kitchen floor. I understand the item is not returnable. The second jar (part of the package) was not sealed either. I did not take it out of the bubble wrap but you can clearly see that the security seal is broken under the bubble wrap. Not happy that I can not return both.1Product has changed for the worse in my opinionThis was the last order I will place for this coffee. I have enjoyed this coffee, or what this coffee used to be, for over two years maybe over three. It's been a long time regardless, and there was nothing better in my opinion. Sometime last fall a different version was shipped, different label and absolutely a different product, bitter and unpleasant to smell. I've ordered from different suppliers 5 times since then, (can't ever seem to to order from the same supplier twice), 2 of those orders produced the old wonderful product; old label on the jar and 3 have been the other version. Twice I've been able to return them but that's frustrating because you can't count on the replacement being any different. My most recent order came all the way from Sweden, took 3 weeks, and it's the bad stuff, new look on the label but the coffee is that bad smelling bitter version. The company won't acknowledge any change, but I know it's not the same as it was. I guess they've finally sold all the old product and all that's available is the new version. Very disappointing, took years to find them in the first place, now back to searching for something worth drinking.1My favorite brand coffeeI love this brand but have changed over to the Pure Gold coffee. This was a little too dark for my taste.4Yummy taste.Great coffee. Take to work, add hot water, and milk and it's better than brewed. No need to keep brewing coffee all day. We have a fancy machine that grounds our beans seconds before brewing them as well as a keurig on my counter. We used them both daily. For some unknown reason, my husband decided to purchase a jar of this Douwe Egberts pure gold and we fell in love. We've since purchased more and the decaf as well, which is just as good. I was very hesitant at first (I remember my Grandpa and his Sanka from years ago). My husband insisted I try it and I honestly can't believe what a good cup of coffee this is. It took a little bit of experimenting on his part to come up with the correct amount of grounds (we use 1 tablespoon for 10 oz water) but now that we have it down, neither of us can get enough of it. I'm so glad we tried it because now we're hooked.5
