WonderfulI used to use the Diva Cup, which was great in its own right, but after baby things are a bit different, so back to pads. Hadn't bought them in years, and I was disturbed to discover that most of the pads are scented. Not cool.I use other Seventh Gen products. Their dish soap and dishwasher tabs are excellent. I love their diapers for my son, and thought why not try their pads for myself? These are great for my light periods. I like the long pads because I like the extra protection, and they are great for overnight. I'm not sure how well they'd hold up for someone who has a heavy flow. I tried their regular short pads, and those worked great, too. I bought a case of these to try and prefer these. The price here on Amazon is much cheaper than at my local health food store, which is the only place I could find them.They don't smell like anything (thank you!) and I haven't had a leak. They are nice and thin and pretty comfy considering the fact that they are pads. They are also chlorine free, and I love the wings because they hold them in place.Great product!5Am a lifetime customer nowBeen buying it in bulk for the last one year now. Have used many brands but could never find anything which will not scratch my skin and hurt the area around my bikini line when I do any physical activity while on periods. Due to major skin sensitivities, I've been reliant on these Seventh Generation pads for years and always purchase them in bulk. When I opened my last shipment, I noticed the packaging had changed. I wasn't concerned as it boasts that it's just a new look and the same comfortable pad as always. However, they do NOT feel identical. The old version was soft and smooth to the touch and the new ones feel more like paper than cotton and have almost a bumpy exterior around the edges that irritates the skin it contacts. I compared the ingredients on both packaging labels and the order has changed and the results are personally not good. I'm now trying other organic brands to hopefully find something as comfortable as the older version of this product.1Do Their JobThese do the job they are intended to do. Comfortable, and the value pack is a nice option for purchasing.5Wonderfully hypoallergenicMy body is picky. It develops hives to the darnedest things. Lawn grass? Check. Bounce dryer sheets? check. Bleach? Check.Periods are hard enough with all of the normal issues that females face, but having hives in your private area while dealing with cramps and grumpiness? No thanks. This product alleviated that issue. I'm very grateful and purchased a 6 month supply to make sure that I don't run out, cuz really? Who wants hives THERE?5Great product!I have Intersitian Cystitis and therefore have to be extremely careful about what I'm putting near my lady bits. Tampons aren't an option for me, they cause flare ups (having a period is hard enough, don't need to make it even more difficult). These are great! Chemical free, super absorbent, and easy to use. The pads that I received bunch up almost immediately. I've never had that happen with these pads in the past. Additionally, the pads are tearing when you try to remove them, causing the inner materials to shed all over the place. I am hoping that I just got a bad batch and this is not the new normal for these pads.Update 8/23/2018-I again received a case of overnight pads with wings when ordering regular maxi pads. I called Amazon again, they state (again) that they are escalating the issue and opening an investigation on the item. Amazon really needs to do a bin check and make sure that the merchandise is in the right place, it's a hassle to return them each time.Update 7/16/2018 - I'm still using and loving these pads and it's the only brand I can wear without irritation. I ordered a case from Amazon recently and received a case of Overnight pads with wings. Make sure you check your shipment before you throw the box away to make sure you received the right pads.I'm an allergy sufferer, suffer from moderate bladder leakage, and I have Menorrhagia (extremely heavy periods). I wear pads 24/7/365 and normally only purchase overnight pads or pads that provide ultimate absorbency. I have switched back and forth among Always, Tena, Stayfree, Cottony, and Poise pads as they change their absorbency, pad design, and formula used to make the pads. I started getting pain and burning about every 6 weeks which led me to my doctor's office, 6 specialists, and finally Planned Parenthood where it was determined that pads were my problem. Up until that time I thought I was doing everything possible to prevent urinary tract infections: drinking plenty of water, taking D-Mannose supplements, taking Cranberry supplements, wearing all cotton undies, using natural toilet paper, avoiding baths, etc.).I always take the medical field's advice and then conduct my own research. As I read page after page on the Internet including message boards where other women described their own urinary tract infections, it was becoming evident that traditional pads are laden with chemicals. Although the chemicals in each brand of pad varies, some of the brands that I was using contained chlorine, BPA, BPS, and PEG, just to name a few. It became crystal clear that the urinary tract infections were being caused by the chemicals in traditional pads.Then, I began the search for a natural pad to replace the traditional pads I was using. I can say without a doubt that trying natural pad brands was one of the biggest nightmares I've ever gone through. I was used to pillow soft pads with plenty of comfort and absorbency and most of the natural pads that I tried were not only not absorbent but also stiff and uncomfortable. I tried pads designed for both bladder leakage and periods. I only like to purchase one brand of pads for both purposes, and I wanted one brand of natural pads, and was determined to find it. Unfortunately, natural pads are mostly sold in health food stores, in the health and beauty department and they are stored near essential oils, scented soaps, etc. These fragrances often seep through the pad packaging and you end up with stinky pads.Elyte was the first brand I tried. I ordered them from Amazon and the box smelled like gunpowder. The pads were super soft and large, but they had a fragrance (not gunpowder) that I couldn't get past. I truly wanted an unscented pad. Natracare pads had a very weird texture to them that caused chaffing. Organyc pads were stiff and uncomfortable, like walking around with a brick between my legs and they irritated my skin. Honest Company pads were soft, but they were tiny and had zero absorbency, appropriate for tiny spotting and that's about all. All of the natural brands I tried caused itching, burning, pain, hives in places that you shouldn't get hives, and were completely uncomfortable to wear. I tried going a week without wearing pads, and it was one of the worst weeks of my life.Reluctantly, I tried Seventh Generation Maxi Pads. I say reluctantly because they did not offer an overnight pad without wings and I was determined that their regular pads would be useless. I was wrong! Seventh Generation Maxi Pads are completely unscented. There is no chemical odor, no factory odor, no store odor, and no fragrance added. They are completely neutral and when you hold a pad up to your nose to sniff it, you detect nothing, which is the way it should be with all pads. They come individually wrapped which is important for when you are on the go. They do not contain chlorine which is what most pad manufacturer's use to whiten their pads. You know the itching you get when you leave a wet swimsuit on too long? That itching is caused by chlorine which is in most traditional pads but is not in Seventh Generation Maxi Pads. They don't irritate my skin, and if my skin never gets irritated by their pads, yours won't either because I have an allergy list a mile long and the most sensitive skin on the planet.Comfort is one of the most important things to me, especially when it comes to pads since I wear them all the time. Seventh Generation has the pillow like softness of a regular pad without the chemicals. Their pads don't cause any friction, rubbing, or chaffing. They are comfortable against my skin and I forget I am wearing them due to how lightweight they are. They also don't make my shorts look bulky, and you can't tell I'm wearing them, like you can with some traditional pads that feel like they scream "she's wearing pads instead of tampons" as though it's some kind of crime.Absorbency is perhaps the most important part about pads for me. I want to use one pad that can handle both bladder leakage and my menstrual cycle, and I don't want to worry about whether or not my pad will hold up when I'm out in public. Seventh Generation Maxi Pads absorb like traditional pads. They don't bunch up, ride up, fold over, or do any of the things that other brands of natural pads do. In fact, they stay in place better than traditional pads and have great adhesive strips. I LOVE their adhesive strips, because they are strong enough that the pads stay in place however they DO NOT leave adhesive residue in your undies like traditional pads do (I'm looking at your Poise). I comfortably wear them to bed, indoors, and outdoors, and most of the time I forget I am wearing them until just before it's time to change them. One thing I do not like about the absorbency is that as it gets close to time to change the pads, I feel some wetness. I have solved that problem by changing them more frequently, now every four hours or so.There is one thing I do not love about Seventh Generation pads, and that is the size of the pads. They are on the small side. They aren't just short but they are also somewhat skinny compared to pads that I am used to (though they are wider than many brands of natural pads). I would LOVE to see Seventh Generation make a longer, wider, overnight pad WITHOUT wings. For now, I end up stacking pads slightly overlapping side by side, and adding one pad to the back. This means that I use three Seventh Generation pads at one time. Using three Seventh Generation pads at one time costs me around 50 cents, even less when I have a coupon or they are on sale. If that sounds like a lot of money, my previous brand of pads cost me 83 cents each, so Seventh Generation pads are actually saving me money.If you have sensitive skin, suffer from urinary tract infections, or you are just looking to cut chemicals out of your pad routine, give Seventh Generation a try, you might be surprised like I was with the results.5
